About Us: Culture

So you’ve just gotta know what makes us tick. It’s pretty simple: We beat up gear as often as we can and when we’re not doing that we do our best to sell online the gear we haven’t beat up yet. Home for us has been an extra bedroom, a garage and a drafty warehouse with used desks and a “build your own desk” first day on the job mentality. Our team consists of former ski bums, college grads and 1 or 2 of us even have a master’s, but that doesn’t really amount to much spit in our book. Merge our passion for the outdoors and our drive for excellence and innovation online and the result is a great place to be in business and the ideal place for you to call “my store”. Throw in a healthy dose of frugality and what we deliver is solid gear from “click” to your house every time, over and over and over again.

It seems it has paid off as Biz Rate gave us the “Circle of Excellence Platinum” award for customer satisfaction and we grabbed #93 on the 2004 Inc. 500 list. Don’t worry though; we won’t break our arms patting ourselves on the back. We’ll keep analyzing the way things are done and figure out how to do it better, all the while keeping the costs down so that you get the best gear, delivered just how you expect it.
